Appearance + Pings
He looks reddened and bloated from drinking, and for some reason his face is ALWAYS frozen in a sleazy grin, like it physically cannot make any other expression. In keeping with Cirrus Network's dress code, he's a snappy dresser, even if he brings a colorful disco vibe and heels to his suits.
If you have pings for any kind of supernatural elements, he pings like faint static on the radar. It's not distinguishable what it is, but it's not strong enough to be concerning... probably.

Limelight Info
Powers
Weather Rapport
Can occasionally feel what other members of the Cirrus Network (or people so closely related to it that they count as "part of the group") are thinking or feeling. Can never be relied upon to work 100% of the time. Sporadic and subject to dice rolls to work.
L'Histoire de L'Estorie
Can "read the wind" to have a sense of things that might be currently happening, or that might be just about to happen, that are high-impact events. Just generally knows where Important Things are happening, due to premonitions he gets on the air, so he can head over there to investigate. Can never be relied upon to work 100% of the time. Sporadic and subject to dice rolls to work.
Pertinent Portent
Can conjure accurate or mostly-accurate clues or predictions out of thin air, without any real evidence—though the information is likely vague and cryptic. Essentially "a really good hunch." Most effective when applied to an ongoing investigation. Can never be relied upon to work 100% of the time. Sporadic and subject to dice rolls to work. If the dice roll fails, the hunch will be completely wrong, but he will still believe it to be true with the same conviction.

Limelight AU
"Dirk O'Mann" is a part-time private investigator, a part-time psychic, and a part-time "anything that sounds fun." Also, any of those part-time labels can become full-time or 24/7-time at the drop of a hat, depending on where his attention is. Good news is: his life isn't in shambles, yet! The bad news is, since he doesn't have the cautionary tale of the lowest lows, he'll constantly be at risk for making terrible decisions... You'll have to distract him with lots of investigations and side-quests to keep his attention on his work instead. He is a really good detective!

Player Comfort Notes
I don't have any notes for myself, but you should look at my OPT-IN/OPT-OUT POST for potential triggers and for psychic powers.

Opt-In, Opt-Out, Etc.
Hey there friends. This is a general post for opting in and out of stuff. There is a Lot of Stuff. Comments SHOULD BE screened.
EDIT 8/10/2024: Not all of this is 1000% applicable to Limelight but it's close enough that I'm leaving it as-is! LMK if you have specific questions about what is different
OPT-OUT
There are a lot of triggering topics in Disco Elysium, and also it's a mystery game, so there are plenty of reasons to opt out of playing with the detective, or request that certain topics never come up. It should be pretty easy for me to completely avoid topics while still playing with you, so if it's just something specific you'd like to dodge, that's great for me to know!
Here's like, an incomplete list of things you might encounter with him that may be unpleasant to many people. For the record, I do not want to drop any of these out of nowhere, but, things come up sometimes.
OPT-IN
The detective has limited psychic abilities. These usually come in the form of vague hunches. For example, if your character was a dog trainer at home: "Something is missing. This person is missing a loyal companion." These are mixed in with other hunches that are not necessarily correct, but if you would like to opt in to psychic vibes, you can do that here.
If your character is a cop by any loose definition of the term, the detective can more easily read your character's mind. That's just how that works. So you can also opt into that more specific category. For example, if your character is a cop dog trainer who trains cop dogs, it's more like: "This man has proudly served for ten years on the force. Training effective police dogs is no easy task. But now, he has the free time to worry about home decoration instead." This one definitely needs the opt-in component.
Also he's pretty good at detecting lies and stuff in a normal, mundane detective way too. He's by no means infallible at this, but he's a trained lie-detector who can only be beaten by trained liars, pretty much. I don't want to abuse this, so I'd appreciate the permission so I don't come off godmodey.

- Substance abuse (I am playing him as recovering but he has a deep, deep history with it)
- Suicide/suicidal ideation (ditto)
- Really rough breakups and feelings of loss over relationships
- Political debates that may mirror real-world politics
- Depression and schizophrenia-style mental illness (I OOCly am not diagnosed with the latter and don't have close experience with it)
- Police brutality/corruption
- Spoilers for Disco Elysium, a great game that you should play, while keeping in mind the above trigger warnings, and also additional warnings for things such as child abuse, rape, racism and misogyny that don't apply to the main character so much unless you play him that way, which I don't
- You can also just ask me to stop putting his internal dialogue in my action tags

VOICETEST POST
[VOICETEST POST – You are Somewhere. The world is flat. Nondescript. Malleable to the influence of its inhabitants. Disturbingly lacking in history.
INLAND EMPIRE – This is where you are supposed to be. Wholly unfamiliar, but deeply familiar. Don't worry about where you are. Worry about who is here. Talk to people.
VOICETEST POST – There is a shopping street. A café. A convenience store. People mill about, acting normally. They are also supposed to be here.
CONCEPTUALIZATION – Most of these people aren't people at all. They're shadows filling the space between people. You have to wade through the shadows to find the real treasure. But it'll be worth it. Somewhere in these shadows you're bound to find something you've never seen before. A real new experience!
LOGIC – Meaning it's not just an experience you've had and then forgotten about having.
YOU – Find something you've never seen before.]
Hey there. Never seen you around before.
[The detective approaches, body language casual, a disarmingly sleazy smile on his face. So what is your character up to?]
